CSR Initiatives

Sonata Software Limited, a global IT services company, is supporting scientific research, education outreach and infrastructure development at the Department of Computer Science and Automation (CSA), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. Department of CSA gratefully acknowledges the gracious support provided by SONATA Software.

The three year program, from April, 2017 to March, 2020 will focus on boosting research activities in cutting-edge areas of computer science that are of contemporary relevance to both industry and academia. The program will support outreach activities such as Summer School, Student Internship programs, and Swagatham to encourage the best of undergraduate students to pursue PhD programs in computer science and engineering in the country. It has been a constant endeavour by the Department of CSA to provide the best infrastructure for research and pedagogy. The support from this program will go a long way in strengthening the existing infrastructure. The program will also support cutting edge research initiatives.

OUTREACH ACTIVITIES

  1. Swagatham: Swagatham is an open-house program conducted for top rankers in GATE to give them a glimpse of opportunities at CSA, IISc. For more information and photos you can visit the official webpage of Swagatham
  2. 5th CSA Undergraduate Summer School: The CSA Undergraduate Summer School is a one-week program aimed at undergraduates who have completed their third year of B.E./B.Tech. The goal of the program is to inculcate the idea and joy of research in Computer Science.   3. CSA Narendra Summer Internship Program: The CSA Narendra Summer Internship program was a 2-month summer internship program aimed at B.E./B.Tech undergraduate students. The program’s objective was to offer hands-on research experience to students, and hence to motivate them to take on research challenges in their careers.
